By some reason I've just come back from Mustang, or Upper Lo (it will be much more correct to call it Upper Lo from historical perspective). To be honest I expected to see not much then some sights for expensive tourism. But, as soon as I arrived to Lower Lo, I saw a lot of caves. Definitely, the Lo is the kingdom of caves. Most of them were living sections for locals in past and some had monasteries' function. Second great thing is the Jampa Gompa in Lo Montang. There are most impressive murals I've ever seen. The painting school is close to Gyantse Kumbum in Gyantse, Tibet, but much more sophisticated.
